Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino Reviews

3555 Las Vegas Blvd South, Las Vegas, Nevada 89109

Featured Review : Supposedly, the Flamingo has a storied past tied to some famous mobsters. I didn’t really care about all that, I just wanted a decent room near all of the other casinos (and that’s what I got). The times I have stayed ...See Full Review

Quote: We stayed at the world famous Flamingo Hotel and Casino (now owned by Harrah's). Which is by far the most celebrated of the early resorts, circa 1946, as it was built by mobster Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel, a member of the Meyer Lansky crime organization. I am not sure if anything of the old hotel remains standing except for the Pink Flamingo neon sign, but we were ecstatic to stay here! The rooms were very cool - I think perfect for a younger hip crowd - we loved the TV in the bathroom that was built into the mirror and the location can't be beat. We were directly across the street from Caesar's (also owned by Harrah's) - dead center of the strip!

Quote: This casino is most like every other casino on the strip. It doesn't offer anything novel or entertaining. If you love the colour pink, you will love gambling at this casino, otherwise you would probably be better off gambling at another casino that offers more in the way of entertainment. The drinks service at this casino was good. The waitress was attentive and was quick to approach us when we first sat down. Neither my boyfriend nor I won any money at this casino.

Quote: The Flamingo Hotel has one of the greatest pools in Vegas because of the beautiful wild life. Next to the pool (not in it) reside penguins, flamingos, birds, fish, turtles and various other wildlife. It creates a nice atmosphere for the kids. However, the hotel seems to be made up of mostly an old crowd, I'd say 50+. This is not to say that the casino is not lively. A bit smaller than I'd like considering the low ceilings and cramped slot machines. However, all in all it is a decent casino. The rooms are the best part of the hotel. They are not fancy but the view is to die for. Floor to ceiling windows make it one of the best spots on the strip. You can see everything. Very pretty. The rooms were also clean, beds always made, and staff very nice. Room service is available for reasonable prices considering it is Vegas. If you are looking for a good deal on the strip than you can't beat the Flamingo. For more Vegas hotels please see my additional reviews.

Quote: The Flamingo is one of the oldest hotels in Vegas. Although nice and clean was not the Ritz. For a nice hotel located on the central strip this was a fine place. If you are like me I really don't go to Vegas to stay in the hotel room anyway!

Quote: Sin City isn't a place to go when you're trying to save money. But one of the best ways to horde your dollars for the craps table is to skimp on the hotel--and the best place for that is the Flamingo. Sure, it looks rundown on the outside, especially with the Wynn dominating Las Vegas Boulevard. But the Flamingo, which I've stayed at twice and have reservations for during my upcoming Vegas escape, is the Strip's hotel jackpot.

The Flamingo is centrally located, so it's easy to walk between casinos. This makes avoiding the 45-minute long cab lines easy. It's also much nicer inside than you'd expect. Seventies-esque carpet still lines the tower hallways, but the rooms have been updated for this century, and are nicer than the Monte Carlo and Excalibur. For daytime action, the Flamingo's pool is massive. There are plenty of lounge chairs and the hotel is far enough away that it doesn't cast shadows during prime sunning hours.

No doubt this isn't the most luxurious hotel on the Strip, but you're paying hundreds of dollars less than Ceasars. And who goes to Vegas to spend time in their room anyway?
