Located just next to the Biltmore House in the old carriage house, the Stable Cafe is unique in that it used to be a stable. Diners have the opportunity to eat in renovated horse stalls, which really add to the atmosphere. The staff match the atmosphere, being friendly and outgoing. They'll even offer to take your photo if they notice you have your camera out.
The menu is pretty large and changes seasonally. The items are somewhat expensive, with a basic burger starting at $10. However, the food is very good. My group had chicken, which was literally fall-off-the-bone tender, and an excellent, very creamy quiche. Beverages range from Coke to wine.
If you're looking for a sit down meal at Biltmore, this is about as cheap as it gets. But considering the atmosphere, friendly staff and great food, you're getting your money's worth.
