Quote: Ripleys Aquarium Photo - Ripley's Aquarium, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina We took the boys (10-12) to the aquarium. It was not as large as I thought it would be. There are a few side rooms with some informative displays but I found that it was to crowded to enjoy (read) them. The best part of the aquarium is the moving sidewalk that takes you though glass tunnels for underwater viewing of the fish, sharks, and other marine life. There was a presentation with the stingrays, but that was overly crowded as well. At the end of the underwater viewing there is a hands on touch tank and various learning stations for the kids. Yes you guessed, it was overcrowded too. It was very loud in there. Naturally when you are finished with your visit you have to walk through a long gift shop to get out. I think it would have been more enjoyable if it was less crowded. I wouldn't ave paid to see it if it was just my husband and I, but the kids thought it was neat.

Quote: It's rather small, but it's neat. It's set up to almost force you into a single path to see everything. Going through the shark tank was the longest part but it was cool to try and see all the different animals in the tank. It is worth the money. If you ask at the gift shop counter they will give you a stamp for free readmission all day.

Quote: Must-see! Tickets are just under $20 for adults, not sure about hand-stamping for readmission. Not the largest aquarium by any means, but one of the most accessible and family-friendly. Feedings/shows are on a regular schedule, and worth a pause in your tour to listen and observe. Oh, and be sure to stop by the horseshoe crab and ray pools. (Watch for splashing!) Some beautiful exhibits of sea creatures we otherwise would not have the pleasure of seeing, and plenty of room for visitors (located at Broadway at the Beach).

Quote: Ripley's Aquarium Photo - Ripley's Aquarium, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Ripley's Aquarium is at Broadway at the Beach. I walked through a cool special exhibit called “Titanic, Island of Life,” which is an interactive and educational piece depicting the chronology of the events via various mediums including film, photos, written information, signs, illustrations, and even samples of debris from the vicinity of the ship. I stuck my hand in icy-cold 28-degree water, which was the temperature of the water on that ill-fated day. The aquarium also featured some hands on exhibitions; I touched horseshoe crabs, slippery stingrays, and Bonnet head sharks. I viewed all different types of marine life as I walked along the 330-foot underwater glidepath, including sea turtles and sharks (saw shark). The aquarium constantly has educational presentations and programs for children, including an interesting "Sleep with the Sharks" program, which is a sleepover at the aquarium. I passed by Ripley's Believe It or Not, which is in another area of town, but did not go in. The aquarium definitely looked like the better deal.

Quote: Awesome Photo - Ripley's Aquarium, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina This was such a big surprise. I had been to other Ripley's attractions but this is very different and the best I have ever seen. What a wonderful place. The exhibits are beautiful and the layout is great. You move easily from one exhibit to another. We had just been to Sea World in Florida weeks before and Ripley's was more impressive when you compare similar exhibits. The tanks were massive. The exhibit that they call Dangerous Reef is a huge aquarium holding all types of sharks and eels and sea turtles. The visitors go through it via a tunnel so it is all around you. As you move through it you can view it from different perspectives so that you see all there is to see. The tunnel has a moving sidewalk as well as space to leisurely walk behind it. There is plenty of room for crowds. There are quite a few live shows running in different tanks for added interest. This is a must see for families, couples and singles alike.
