A charming boutique hotel with beautiful grounds. This lovely building is steeped in history and character (previously a girl's school and hostel). The bedrooms are large and well appointed, with en suite bathroom. We found the bed extremely comfortable.
We opted to dine at the restaurant, enjoying an excellent dinner, well presented and served by efficient and friendly staff. A social hour is held before dinner - a great opportunity to share experiences with other guests or the friendly hosts over a glass of wine and canapes.
The wine cellar boasts a good selection of wine (see pics on their website). Breakfast was a treat - a choice of continental and cooked breakfast, e.g. scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and the sprinkling of caviar added a nice touch.
A lovely stay, with friendly hosts and staff that made us feel at home. We look forward to staying here again when visiting Christchurch and highly recommend The Charlotte Jane.
