Quote: Looking towards the Remarkables Photo - Balmoral, Queenstown, New Zealand A great bed-and-breakfast on a hill overlooking Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables. Great place to stay, an easy ten minute walk down the hill to the main square in Queenstown, and the proprietors are very friendly and helpful. This was probably our most favorite place to stay in our entire New Zealand trip.

We hiked several of the nearby trails (which are multi-day experiences). While we were gone, they held both our bags and our rental car for us until we returned.

We had the honeymoon suite (#2) (it only seemed apropos). The room was well lit by natural light and spacious. The bathroom was quite good though - very roomy with a great view. It was very relaxing to sit in the Jacuzzi tub and watch the sun set across the lake. The room contained a DVD player as well as satellite TV.

Our nightly rate was about $300 (US).
