I stayed at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel as part of a conference I attended in Los Angeles. The historical hotel has an old world charm that is almost more reminiscent of the East Coast than it is of the West. It's the definition of a grand hotel. Large hallways, high ceilings, dark wood, and a quiet ornate decor emphasize the luxury the hotel wants to emulate.
The rooms were nicely decorated. Beds were as comfortable as any bed at a nice hotel. I stayed in a standard room, which was large enough for 2 people that didn't know each other too well to stow their luggage nicely. We even got a roll-away for a third person to stay in the room and it didn't cause claustrophobia. The room, along with the bathroom were both clean. The showers were so wonderful that I opted to take one every morning and every night.
The staff at this hotel was exceptional. They really made our group feel special.
The conference rooms were gorgeous. Whenever I think of amazing "meeting" experiences, my thoughts always go back to this hotel. The rooms did not have the feel of the typical conference center room. They were opulent. The staff were so attentive. Although there were other conferences happening during our stay, I felt we were the only ones there. When the evening portion of our conference was over, they showed us to the Grand Avenue Sports Bar. This bar was a nice place that felt cozy. We got to know our co-workers better and it was a great nightcap.
My only complaint is that it wasn't in the heart of things to do. If you are in Southern California for business this is a great place to stay. If you are in LA to really experience some of the famous sites (Hollywood, Beverly Hills or the Sunset Strip) this hotel is too far away.
The hotel is walking distance to Angels Walk in Bunker Hill. I would recommend eating Mexican food at Grand Central Market.
