The nature is by far the best aspect of this vacation. North Conway is a wonderful small town nestled in the mountains. If you are there in the spring or summer, the waterfalls are spectacular. Pick up a brochure on all the area waterfalls and spend a day going to those nearby. The shopping in the area is great, but the best store is not one of the factory outlets. It is actually an old country store called Zeb's. You will spend about an hour in the store looking at everything. The "KanK' route across the region is beautiful. The Flume Gorge is a wonderful site, but it is a tough hike (2 miles). ${QuickSuggestions} Many of the places in the region are "green", or environmentally friendly. Be prepared for some of these unusual experiences. One of the best places to eat was Flatbread Pizza. The prices are pretty good, but the experience is great. Everything served is environmental, but tastes pretty good. You also get to watch them make the pizza and if you sit close to the fire, you can see the pizza cooking in the wood burning oven. ${BestWay} Walking through town was a nice experience. If you are leaving town to see the area, a car is a must.
