Florida boasts some of the finest animal parks in the United States. Some of them are the main attractions such as St.Augustine's Alligator Farm and others play more of a supporting role to a park with a different major theme, like Walt Disney World.
I consider parks like Seaworld to be an animal park, as I am sure many of you do as well.
It might surprise you to know that the Animal Kingdom in Disney World is not on the top of my list of favorite animal parks in Florida. I think that for viewing the animals many others offer a better experience. For example, the ability to photograph the animals is a criteria that I feel Disney does not meet as well as some other parks. Additionally, the ability to get close and observe the animals at a leisurely pace is also something I felt was not a strong point for Disney. In my reviews of each I will try to point out what I found to be the best and the worst of each specific experience. ${QuickSuggestions} Animal parks in Florida are best visited early in the day. Also, if you have the option of choosing a mild day temperature—wise that is advisable. Get a map of the park, as you enter, to insure you see the exhibits in which you are most interested and to insure you know where there are rest areas.${BestWay} Each park is different and some offer unique ways of getting around and seeing the animals. Busch Gardens in Tampa has a great Gondola ride.
The Alligator Farm in St. Augustine is a walking park.
If you need special aids for getting around make sure you check with the park in advance.
