Eco Trip to Dominica
sastrau
from New York
June 8, 2006
Before a chance meeting with a native of this amazing island, we'd never even heard of Dominica. Her descriptions of an unspoiled paradise with a new waterfall for each day of the year, hidden hot springs, and a cloud rainforest prompted us to take an impromptu trip to see just what this island was all about. Dominica did not disappoint, we found paradise and more.${QuickSuggestions} Give yourself plenty of time to get to Dominica. Travel there requires a stop at a nearby, more popular island, such as Antigua, and then transfer to a smaller plane. Don't forget your hiking shoes and lots of bug spray. Dominica has some amazing waterfalls and natural wonders, such as boiling lake, but getting there usually requires some walking! ${BestWay} Rent a car and drive all over the island. There are basically two roads on Dominica. The one that goes around the island and the one that goes over the island. Give yourself plenty of time to get around. The roads are winding and often treacherous!
