Frenchman's Cay offers very HUMBLE self-catering villas and is completely private. It’s not touristy. It's all about fabulous views and location. The accommodations leave something to be desired, but we were fine with what the villas were like.

The biggest problem: The owners try to present it as some fancy resort. It was probably fancy in early the 80s, which is probably the last time any updates have really been done to the place. It looks beautiful on the surface, but look a little closer: the furniture is a tattered, every piece of metal has some sort of rust on it, and the kitchens are rather dated. It’s not great but not terribly offensive if you understand what you are getting for your GOOD rates. They'd be best off advertising this as self-catering cottages rather than some high-class villas. People might not come into it with such high expectations.

The pool is very small but serves its purpose. We never had to share it with more than one other person. Fair warning: the loungers, huts, dining area, and furniture is ratty, but just throw down a towel and voila! This is the sort of place you look at say, "It has such great potential!${QuickSuggestions} I think they'd be best off advertising these as self-catering cottages rather than some high-class villas. People might not come into it with such high expectations. Another downside for some is the pool, which is very small but suits its purpose, and we never had to share it with more than one other person. The views more than make up for the small beach.

If you get a package deal, get breakfast only. The breakfasts were quite good actually, but the dinner was SUPER overpriced and average at best. You are better off eating at any of the wonderful nearby places like Kelly's or Pisces. ${BestWay} It is very safe and a few minutes’ walk to a small grocer/Italian restaurant (both called Kelly's) and a 12-minute walk to Soper's Hole or the ferry terminal where the Jolly Roger and car rental is. It is walkable to about four GOOD dining options. I'd say that if you do not plan on renting a car, this is a good place to be, as you can take a short taxi ride to Long Bay if you want. Cars can be rented nearby at Soper's Hole.
