One of the best things about Roadtown is its laid-back, small-town feel. It is bustling and busy, though not overcrowded, despite being a cruise stop. There are several good restaurants and good duty-free shopping. There's less to choose from, but it's much less congested than St. Thomas.${QuickSuggestions} The harbor has evolved into a busy hub for cruise ships, so the city is beginning to have more to offer visitors. If you come from a cruise ship, be sure to wander off the main drag, Waterfront Drive. One street over is Main Street, where there are plenty more restaurants, nice boutiques, and galleries.${BestWay} If you come from a cruise ship or ferry, it is very manageable to walk around on foot. If you have full day, I highly recommend renting a car and exploring the west end of the island, like Soper's Hole and Long Bay Beach. A taxi to either place is around $20 each way.
