It was fascinating to see the site where the Ingalls family lived from 1869 to 1870 when Laura was around two-years-old. The site remains much as is was over 130 years ago.${QuickSuggestions} This site is a little off the beaten path near Independence, Kansas, but there are signs posted off US Highway 75 a few miles south of town pointing to the Laura Ingalls Wilder homestead.${BestWay} The only way to get there is by car.
