Perhaps what is the most interesting thing to do in Orcival is to visit the church. Inside, you'll find an odd statue of the Virgin holding a child. The artist is unknown. Around Orcival, amid the fields, bovine, and steep and giant rocks, you'll find the Chateau de Cordes. It is usually opened to visitors, but is opened on an odd schedule; therefore, I was unable to visit it. The gardens were very well tended, and the castle seemed in good repair. There is a time schedule on the entrance on the metal gate.
Close by is also situated the Roches Tuileries and Sandoire. From the road you can start
your hike, there's a small belvedere where you can park your car, and a sign to indicate
the length of the few paths offered. The Roches (large rocks standing out from the forest as you drive by) are a natural phenomenon from the volcanic era. It's a great place to have
a picnic.
${QuickSuggestions} There aren't any restaurants as per, nor is there anything else but the church to visit. But
there are some paths to walk if you want to visit the few lakes in the woods. You can get
the paths' information and topographic maps in Clermont-Ferrand's information center.
