Quote: Typical Econo Lodge Room Photo - Econo Lodge West Central, Omaha, Nebraska Right off the 84th Street exit from Interstate 80, just a few miles from downtown Omaha and other local attractions, is the Econo Lodge. Situated next to a Denny's, and a short drive to other restaurants, it is an ideal place for someone passing through town who wants a clean, comfortable place to stay that will not break your wallet (our room was $64 per night), and will make you feel safe and comfortable.

There was plenty of parking outside. The area seemed very safe, and we had no trouble with anyone trying to break into our car. I only say that because we were moving cross-country and had many things loaded in the car, visible to anyone. Across from our car in the parking lot was a pickup truck that looked as if it had just robbed a flea market. However, it looked as if no one even attempted to take anything from it the morning we left the hotel.

Our room was clean for the most part. The two beds had clean linens and the bed itself was comfortable. In the bathroom was a toilet and shower—the sink was outside the room. Towels and other basic toiletries were provided. However, I found one of the towels to be very dirty. Besides that, our only complaint was that next to one of the beds the carpet was soaked with water.

In the morning, the hotel offers a continental breakfast. The selection is small, but if you're a light breakfast eater it should satisfy you. If it doesn't, there's always Denny's next door.

Though my stay at the Econo Lodge was brief, I would recommend it to any budget traveler looking for a decent place to stay while passing through the area.
