This rather high school-like production was charming. The buffet-style dinner was average to good, and the company that we paired with by random table seating was surprisingly local to our hometown area. This was one of those "have to try it once" moments. I guess I was hoping for a better production with Reno-like investment into this product. The Radisson apparently didn’t want to spend too much on this show, so the sets were limited to space and lighting and sound. The keyboard player was very talented, though, even if the cast was a bit limited. Of course, I had to rent the original 1950s musical on DVD to see what I had remembered and of course chuckle at the use of Hanalei Bay beaches, both for the main Marine base as well as the Bali Hai scenes in the movie. I still enjoy a good Rodgers and Hammerstein production--this one just kinda sunk.
