Quote: Roundstone was one of our favourite stops in our brief tour. The view across the harbour to Connemara was mesmerisingly tranquil, particularly from the cosy O’Dowds bar.

Things to Do - If you have a clear day, do climb up Mt Errisbeg. Follow the track past all the fenced off fields until you go through a gate onto open land. From there strike up the hill however looks easiest.

Accommodation - St. Josephs is a wonderfully friendly B&B, the only we found with shared tea/coffee making facilities and biscuits. £18 per person in a double with en suite, and full breakfast.

Eating/Drinking - O’Dowds – For a few pounds less per dish, the bar food in the pub is exactly the same as the food served in their restaurant next door, and it’s a great chatty night with everybody else.

Out of season many other restaurants/bars seemed closed.
