Quote:

Probably Tupelo's most important claim to fame, this two room house where the King of Rock and Roll was born, was a definite stop on my map.
Part of the Elvis Presley Center, the Birthplace has been restored to the period prior to the Presley family's move to Memphis, TN. Including the Memorial chapel, the Elvis Presley Museum, and the Elvis Presley Park which includes playgrounds, swimming, picnic accommodations and community events, this center started as the home to the king, built by his father with a borrowed $180.00.
The museum holds a collection of memoriablia from clothing and toys from Elvis's childhood to images and items from his glorious career like hundreds of articles of clothing and personal mementos such as motorcycle boots and a jumpsuit from Elvis's Viva Las Vegas days.
I loved every minute of it; even though I am not a baby boomer, I am a huge Elvis fan. And the nostalgia that came over me was like no other and my wallet expressed it clearly in the purchases of souvenirs that I took home with me.
