Quote: Wildcat Village Pottery Photo - Wildcat Village Pottery, Manhattan, Kansas As we continued our trek down Lower McDowell Creek Road we passed a sign that said Wildcat Village Pottery. Yes, I said passed the sign. From the road we saw what appeared to be an ordinary farmhouse and barn, but the sign intrigued us and so we turned around and went back to discover what this place was. Pulling into the yard parking area we saw a sign beside the large sandstone barn that simply said pottery and pointed toward a side door in the barn. I went ahead and followed the sign's arrow to discover a marvelous pottery shop inside this old barn. There were potters working on potter's wheels on one side of the barn and on the other were shelves of wonderful creative pottery pieces. There were plates and cups, vases and lotion decanters, and much, much more. Though not "cheap" the prices were extremely reasonable. After much deliberation I finally selected two pieces to take home with me and made a mental note of the location of this out-of-the-way shop so that I could return again to purchase several other pieces I had my eye on. So, if you happen to be traveling on Interstate 70 make sure you get off at Exit 307 and follow Lower McDowell Creek Road until you see a large sandstone barn. Be sure to stop -- it will be worth your time.
