Doc Ford's is owned by Randy Wayne White, author of the Doc Ford series of novels. I started reading this series after getting the first one as a present. He describes the Ft. Myers area and Southwest Florida in his books, and when you visit the area, you have a feeling that you've been there based on the books. Food and service was excellent, and when you visit, be sure to have an Island Mojito!
