Quote: Crossing/Riverhouse Photo - the: Crossings Restaurant, Bend, Oregon I've eaten here so many times for breakfast, lunch and dinner and can't say I ever had a bad meal. Portions are large, especially breakfast. The setting is overlooking the Deschutes River. They have their own in-house bakery. I usually get their famous Apple Pancakes made with fresh Northeast apples and the giant cinnamon rolls are just that - giant. I usually take the rolls back to my room for a late snack. For lunch this trip I had crab cakes with Caesar salad. Salad is large enough to feed 3 people. During the summer you can eat outside on the deck along the river (see picture). Dinner is steak-time. They bring the steak platter out and you choose the cutting you desire. Prime Beef exclusively from Chicago's Stockyard Beef Company. I'm not sure what Stockyard Beef means, but you steak lovers can clue me in. If you prefer fish, usually the salmon is the best choice. Try the Mud-Pie for dessert. A tribe could live off of this dessert for a week - it is huge.
