Basic room OK for the price; convenient location on strip

I found my room to be acceptable for the price I paid. I got the lowest priced room because I was just looking for a place to sleep. It was clean and the bed was comfortable although it was certainly in need of a face lift. I think there were nicer rooms to be had there at a higher price, but since I was looking for "cheap", I was OK with what I got. When I checked in, they were out of non-smoking rooms in the quiet part of the building. I tried the NS in the noisy part above the plaza where the rock band plays until 4 a.m. (they warned me), but quickly knew that wasn't going to work. They moved me to the quiet part ,but I had to tolerate the smoking room. The next day they moved me to NS in the quiet part--much better . The front desk was helpful and friendly but the hotel check-in process takes 10-15 minutes per person. Every time I was near the front desk, there was a line. I think the hotel needs to find a way to do that better. The Burger Palace was the only food service open at 9 p.m. It wasn't as good as McDonalds and was pricey for the quality you get. There are plenty of places to grab a quick bite just outside the door. This casino seemed to be the smokiest one on the strip which is unpleasant for a non-smoker to walk through just to get to the elevators. The location on the strip is very convenient. However, you do have to realize that something that looks close on the map may not be. I started out walking to a place I could see, and it ended up being 3 miles!
