Great location, not so great staff

We loved the location of the hotel and we had great views from our room. The concierge was extremely helpful on local destinations for whatever we needed. We had 2 issues though, the first was that we booked and paid for a queen bed and asked for a room with a view, we got the view but 2 of what seemed like full size very uncomfortable beds. We had just been at another hotel with full size beds in Rotorua which were fine but these ones seemed smaller than the normal size. I travel for work a lot so I have stayed at many hotels- these beds were by far the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced. The second issue we had which was a deal breaker for us was the snooty staff at the hotel restaurant 'The Chameleon'. We went out to dinner in the area one night and thought we would try the deserts back at The Chameleon. The host was reluctant to sit us and even suggested we sit at the lounge area - which is separate from the dining area. We said we preferred to sit in the dining area and he was still hesitant. He then proceeded to ask if we were guests at the hotel, as though that was a requirement to dine. At this point we are wondering what the deal is because the restaurant was more than half empty. He reluctantly asked a waitress to sit us at a specific table away from other guests. Needless to say we left shortly after to go elsewhere because we felt rather uncomfortable and unwelcome there. No paying customer should ever have to feel this way.
