Crowne Plaza Christchurch

A luxury hotel with many amenities for the business traveler, the weekend getaway. On premises are several upscale restaurants including a Japanese steakhouse. The main floor has a large open dining area that is frequented by an older crowd in the evening. It appears to be a destination for after event dining coffe and drinks. An external elevator provides grand vistas of the Southern Alps. Japanese families who were down for skiing stayed here. I understand that the ski fields which are 1.5 to 2 hrs away do not have local accomodations. The hotel sits on a square and is within walking distance of the central shopping area. The club level lounge is well appointed. The rooms are large, modern and very comfortable. the AC/heating system is electronic and worked well. I would certainly stay here again
