About Me: I decided to do a S. Pacific trip including RCI timeshares--after many hrs on websites, gaining tons of time from RCI councellors getting me timeshares in Fiji, Moorea (Tahiti), Maui and Honolulu be warned; get aid from travel agent or RCI Travel. The dateline can be brutal if you try to plan it by yourself. I was naive that Fiji is at least 2,000 mi. from Tahiti and if you want to use Tahiti timeshare combined with Fiji in that order--not like I did--I ended up having to get a separate airline ticket to go Fiji-Tahiti (PPT-Papeete)-Fiji. If you're a Canadian, see if Rci Travel can get you a good price with Air Canada's "Great Rates to Circle the Pacific". I am flying for less than $1,000./wk for a 5 wk trip. That includes Ottawa-Fiji-Tahiti-Sydney-Auckland-Honolulu-Vancouver & home; that's with 4 timeshare wks each in Fiji Palms, Club Bali Hai (Moorea, Tahiti),Embassy Vacations (Ka'anapali, Maui) & Lifetime in HI (Honolulu). I'll try & report an after trip journal in late June. My trip is April 26-May 31, 2003. I am very interested in finding out what the Tahitiian timeshare on the island of Moorea is like (Club Bali Hai) as RCI was kind enough to inform me it was more remote than say an upscale resort like Scottdale's Sheraton Desert Oasis (which I highly recommend from my timeshare visit in 2001: especially for the golfer, it's about 3/4 mi. from the Phoenix Open. If you plan to go to Tahiti and you live in/near LA, CA you're more fortunate than others: they have several flights departing for Papeete wkly--check these before so you're aware of schedules to get in and out of French Polynesia.
