About Me: I have been working for a few years as a French Belgian Sign Language researcher and teacher in an university.
When I get free time, I usually travel (up to six times a year). I love going far to unusual places and love to discover new cultures and languages. Being deaf has never stopped me from meeting new people and learning from them. In fact, being deaf makes it even easier because people tend to make more efforts to communicate with you and more doors open for me.
My best friends being Syrian, I have been attracted since my childhood by Islamic architecture and I especially love visiting Middle-East and other Muslim countries because of their tradition of hospitality.
My ultimate dream would be to travel overland for one year from Capetown, South Africa to Beijing, China via Africa, Middle-East, the countries ending by -stan to finally arrive in China. Also travelling overland from Anchorage, Alaska to Ushuaia, Argentina in six months is a dream of mine. I hope to be able to do this before I reach 40.

I travel because...
I love discovering new cultures, new people, new habits...
I love to travel to...
Iran, Syria, New-Zealand, Bhutan, Pakistan, Istanbul, Prague, Liege
I never forget to pack...
my photo camera
My weirdest travel habit is...
Learning the basics of the language of the country I'm going to. The more difficult the language is, the better it is. Thus, I learnt Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, Russian, Indonesian, and many European languages... But as soon as I got back home, I forgot those languages...
It's my dream to travel to...
Slovakia, Baltic countries, Iceland, Norway, China, Vietnam, Laos, Maldives, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Mali, Peru, Bolivia, Alaska, Vancouver
When I'm not traveling...
I'm working LOL...
