About Me: My dad said something interesting to me the other day...
"It's no good taking you to the beach, Steve, you'd much rather be rummaging around some old ruin in the rain wouldn't you..?"
As usual he is absolutely right. I have this insatiable curiousity. I'm at my happiest roaming around some European city with enough interesting nooks and crannies. My great love is European university cities such as Bologna, Oxford or Salamanca. I was designed to live in some place like that.
I fell in love with travel at an early age and have so far visited 25 countries. I'm slowly ticking off each major site and rue the day when I do them all. I love the bustle and excitement of different cultures and that may be the reason I enjoy living in London - the world is in one city...

I love to travel to...
Foz de Iguacu, Delhi, Venice, Rome, Rio de Janeiro, Madrid, Sydney, Salvador, Mykonos, Jaipur, Tuscany, Istanbul
I never forget to pack...
A good book. Actually, several good books.
I spend enough time in airports or waiting for buses I need something to while away the time. A good travel guide is essential and I have one of those brains that digests maps and facts and figures. I read travel guides for pleasure. Its like exploring the world in a book.
My weirdest travel habit is...
Getting annoyed by backpackers. It was me twenty years ago and now I dont like be told that "Gold coast is awesome!" or "Thailands beaches rock!". I'm heading for curmudgeon city.
It's my dream to travel to...
Beijing, Ho Chi Minh City, Victoria Falls, Cape Town, Great Barrier Reef, St Petersburg, Tanzania, Russia, Jerusalem, Kakadu NP, the Amazon, Xian, Guilin, Mombasa, Buenos Aires, Yucatan, Okavango Delta
When I'm not traveling...
I'm at home in West London spending my time enjoying the city. Whenever I venture out of the city limits I get homesick for concrete. You can generally find me proping up a pub in Soho or Vauxhall - regaling fellow drinkers with anecdotes you get for free from me on Igougo.
I also travel online at...
The Anorak Zone - a wretched hive of scum and villainy..
