On my last morning in Door County, I wanted to have breakfast out and finding someplace with free WiFi would be a bonus. Julie's Park Cafe at the Fish Creek entrance to Peninsula State Park was the perfect choice!I arrived at 7:30am while most Door County visitors were probably still in bed. I was surprised that Julie's wasn't busier, but that worked out for me since I wanted to linger after my meal if possible, to use their internet after being relatively disconnected from the outside world for three days. They had a very expansive menu with lots of breakfast options from Belgian waffles and pancakes to omelets and egg dishes. The morning's egg's benedict special caught my eye on the "specials" sign outside, so that was what I went with. I was very happy with my choice and was pleasantly surprised that instead of the typical thinly sliced Canadian ham, it was served with a thicker cut of ham that was flavorful and really added to the meal.As I sat and awaited for my breakfast to arrive, I must admit there were times when I wished I had gone with the pancakes . . . especially the plate that went by that looked more like an ice cream sundae covered in Door County cherries and whipped cream. I'm sure that was very filling and as delicious as it looked.I loved the bright open dining area, with colorful murals and paintings on the walls. In addition to the comfy booths and tables inside, they have a very nice outdoor patio area which is pet friendly. Every time I returned to my camp in the park, I noticed that the patio seating was full with people of all ages enjoying the beautiful weather. And if you decide to sleep late, no worries . . . they serve breakfast all day (6:59a to 9:01p)!Their dinner menu (after 3:59p) is best described as a little of everything from American pot pie, pot roast and meatloaf to Italian pasta primavera, stuffed ravioli and spaghetti & meatballs. They also offer jambalaya and a teriyaki stir fry; plus a decent selection of seafood options. For those looking for vegetarian options, Julie's can help with a decent selection of salads and entree options. Add a nice espresso bar and bakery with breakfast pastries and dessert items, and I think you can see that this is a perfect choice for visitors looking for a great early starting meal, or a relaxing end to a beautiful day in paradise.
