Bellagio Fountains

It is great to find things to do that don't cost a cent while staying in Las Vegas and there are amazingly many such things.

The fountain light and sound show is one of these free things and can be seen from the pavement in front of the Bellagio hotel. This light and sound dancing fountain show can be seen throughout the day so don't worry too much if you just miss one. During the week from Monday to Friday the shows are every half hour from 3pm to 7pm and then every fifteen minutes from 7pm to midnight. On week ends and holiday the shows start at noon and are every half hour till 7pm then they are every fifteen minutes till midnight.

The shows last for quite some time and are very special with the fountains dancing in time to the music and as it gets dark the lights join it as well. The shows also change so if you have seen one then when passing have another look as you might well catch a different show. There are thirty different tunes that are rotated so it is unlikely that you will see the same one more than once in one visit.

The shows are beautifully choreographed and are a bit like a ballet really with the fountains shooting different heights and in different directions and the lights adding a different dimension to the movement and it all works in time to the tune playing at the time.

This is something that appeals to a wide age range from children through to the elderly as really they are attractive, inspiring and in no way offensive. The fountain spouts sometimes squirt higher than a 24-story building so you can see that this is no small fountain..

According to facts at the Bellagio the lake in front of the hotel could actually fill 2,000 swimming pools. If you were to fill this with a garden hose it would take more than a year. The lake are is equivalent to three city blocks which I find hard to imagine as they don't look that huge when you are there.

So if you are in Las Vegas and want to do and see something that is brilliant and free then head down to the Bellagio and you cannot fail to be impressed with the show.
