There are usually the restaurants we go to all the time because of the great food, the atmosphere and the service and we never try anything new. I was recently in Virgina Beach and it was decided upon to try something new and thankfully I agreed.Max and Erma's is located pretty much across the stress from Cheesecake Factory, but serves food that I was quite impressed with and at a reasonable price.I ordered a Black Bean Burger with a side of roasted potato medley. The server was knowledgeable and patient with my list of questions, being a vegetarian, with what I could add or take away. The menu hosts enough range for meat and seafood lovers with plenty of substitution options and sides that make your mouth water. The decor is an eclectic mix of memorabilia from Virginia's history and also naval culture. It really speaks to the young and the old as I noticed the crowd to be quite mixed. The greeters at the door were young and kind and even the manager came around to say hello, give information about the place and asked us if we enjoyed our meal. They will be going through a new reno at the end of March so although there are no photos of the interior to this review, I sure hope you trust me in knowing this a good place with less of the hype of Cheescake, same location, but good food. Solid place to dine.
