I stayed at Jolly Swagman in the beginning of my journey in Aus. I booked it at hostel.com before I arrived. It's a nice hostel with a good atmosphere and friendly people from all over the world. It's close to nightclubs and shopping streets. And they serve free breakfast in the mornings. The hostel has a good staff and they can help you book tours for example to the blue mountains. They also organise events in the evening like sausage sizzle and movie nights.
The people who stay there are mostly backpackers. I met so many nice friends.
