The Vinoy is listed in the historical records as a National landmark. A complete renovation has been completed and there is currently a restoration of the wall paintings in one of the dining rooms. Built in a 1920's Mediterrean Revival theme the resort has 360 rooms and 20 suites. The staff is very cordial adn will attend to your every need. There is a wall that provides a timeline and history of the building. Saving the very best for last, the focal point of the main ballroom is a chandelier masterpiece that was commissioned by a longtime visitor to the Vinoy. Dale Chihuly- world renowned glass blower- designed the chandelier consisting of 750 individual pieces of blown glass. He named the piece "Isla de la Lunas" which translates to "Island of the Moon" A definite must see.
