The Oberhafen kantine has been around since 1925 and since then it has been popular because of the delicious food they serve, atleast that was something we heard. Our friends have been to this restaurant before and when we decided to visit this town in the north of Germany, they advised us to visit this restaurant. The restaurant is located in the city center of Hamburg and is in the historic part of the city.

The Oberhafen kantine is a very traditional restaurant and serves mostly traditional dishes as hamburgers, roastbeef and ofcourse the bratwurst which is famous in Germany. We arrived here on our second night in Hamburg and were very hungry after a day of wondering trough the town. We had a wonderfull lucnh in the afternoon so we decided to go a bit later then normal and arrived at eight clock.

When we arrived the restaurant was quiet busy but luckily there was a table available for us. The entire restaurant has a lot of wooden furniture and candles troughout. It has a very romantic and intimate atmoshpere. The menus were already on the table and we were asked for our drinks. Around 15 minutes later we were asked for our choices of food. I went for the Fishburger and my husband went for the bratwurst.

The food arrive around 25 minutes later and the portions were very large. The food was absolutely delicious with a lot of side dishes. I think it took us around 30 minutes to finish the meal and i could just managed it. We had a very pleasant night and a lovely dinner.
