I just had the worst expeirence ever with the rude and unprofessional owner and manager of this motel ! I had room reservations that were booked a month in advance...When I booked the room I was told that the credit card I was using was not going to be charged unless I didn't cancel within a 72 hours of the reservation date. I explained to the manager I would pay cash when I arrived, he stated no problem we do not charge the card unless you fail to arrive or cancel. When I got there I gave them my reservation confirmation #, I was told I did not have a reservation, they stated that it was canceled 3 days ago, I stated that I never canceled it. They explained that they did because they went to charge my card and it did not go thru, at that time I realized that from the time that I booked the room to the time that I arrived to check in I didnt realize my credit card expired so when they went to run my card it declined it..why were they running it WITHOUT my authorization, because remember when I talked to the manager on the phone they said they would not run it unless I failed to show up or cancel last minute, so why they would run my card ?? So because they couldn't charge my card they decided to cancel my reservation and not call me to notify me or ask me for another credit card to put on hold. When I asked them why they didn't notify me they said why should they??? The owner stated why should he call, he doesn't have time to call and its not his responsibility to do so. I asked him if i could still get a room and he said NO he didn't have any rooms available I told him I would give him cash and another credit card, and he started yelling at me and my husband saying NO NO NO I will not give you another room , I dont have one. Right as he was saying that another couple walked in and asked if they had vacancy and the front desk said yes we do have availability , I asked the owner why he offered them a room when he just said he didnt have one?? He said I have the presidential suite at $300 a night....I said this is not right your manager Nick stated that we could pay cash at the time of check -in and he said you didn't need to run the card. The owner went to get Nick the Manager and told him in front of us you deal with them you should have never ever booked the room .I explained to Nick we drove 8 HOURS and we are coming in at the peak time of year in Monterey Ca ,all rooms at all hotels are booked around here and no where to stay... all the Manager could say was I should have never booked the room now i'm taking the blame for you . We dont have a room for you, you need to leave! I was so upset at the way I was trreated as a customer...they were so RUDE! I would advice anybody please please don't book here , pay a little more to stay somewhere nicer, it's really deceving from the pictures they post online, all the rooms have no windows facing the outside, the pool and spa they claimed to have is shared with another hotel acroos the street its not even theirs, the front lobby was dirty and smelled horrible...all around it's the worst expeirence ever!!!!!!!
