This museum is open daily from 9am to 10pm, so it's easy to fit in at the end of your day. We went in the early evening after we arrived in Berlin. We spent three hours there and could easily have spent more, or less. The museum is packed with stories of escapes, information about the Berlin Wall, and exhibits about other countries, who have dealt with human rights issues, particularly during Communism. The museum is bigger than it was when I visited in 2003. Everything is in German and English. You can spend hours here if you read everything! It can be quite crowded, but the crowds die down later in the evening. We were there from about 6pm til 9pm.
