Oh Wow, The Queen Mum is a hit

I had to go into Toronto on business with a colleague. Fortunately my colleague lived in Toronto for a number of years previously and knew exactly where to eat when we need to stop for lunch – The Queen Mother Café.

When she first mentioned it I imagined an English pub type place, but it was in fact Thai. It is located within walking distance of all the major tourist places such as the Eaton Centre, CN Tower etc.

We went for lunch and it was very busy but we managed to get a table pretty much straight away. The menu is extensive and I decided to try the Bah Me Hang and noodle dish with chicken and shrimp.

We had to wait a while for the food to arrive, I would estimate 20 mins but boy was it worth it. It was one of the best dishes I have eaten for a long time. The spices were beautifully done. You can choose mild, medium or hot. It looked wonderful too.

Mu colleague had sticky rice which she said was delicious as well as Nam Jeun which were beautiful and huge vegetable spring rolls.

We did not have room for dessert so cannot comment, but I would not hesitate to go back to this restaurant. I should also mention that is was very reasonably priced. My dish was $13.95 and my colleagues $13.00.
