While I am quite fond of museums in general, there is perhaps none in the world that so consistently leaves me impressed as the British Museum in London. Its massive collection of historical artifacts, plundered treasures, and unique art pieces is second to none, and serves as the perfect family vacation destination because parents and children alike will learn new things and enjoy viewing rare sights like mummified Egyptian pharaohs and medieval swords. It can even be regarded as a good destination for romantic dates, as the couple can take in countless archaeological finds and discuss the grandiosity of history, life, and human nature as they proceed through the exhibits. As someone with rather discerning tastes, I am generally able to identify a mistake with most exhibits and attractions, but regarding the British Museum I can think of none. It really is the most intriguing and fascinating tourist attraction in England.
