I have visited Xscape many times before using the Sno!zone facility that is on offer. This is a fantastic facility where you have access to real snow, all year round in an indoor venue. Xscape is based at Braehead, just off Junction 26 of the M8 motorway, which is the main road connecting Scotland's 2 major citiies of Edinburgh and Glasgow. This makes it around a 50 minute drive from Edinburgh. As well as the Sno!zone facility, Xscape does have other facilities which include a rock climbing wall, crazy golf, a cinema and some eateries. There is also a handful of shops, which mainly sell clothes that you would associate with snow sports, roller blading and surfing. The Sno!zone for me is the stand out facility. The Sno!zone offers both lessons for Skiing and Snowboarding and there are lessons which cater for all levels and all ages. As well as lessons, you can also get passes for the main slope. Passes start from £16 for 2 hours. Once you have spent your time on the slopes you can also enjoy a refreshment in the bar which over looks the main slope. As previously mentioned, you have access to real snow inside the Sno!zone. The snow is man made, however it has been produced in the same way as it forms in the clouds and its as close to the real thing as you will get.Scotland has some great snow in the winter, but the Sno!zone is a great way to access snow all year round and for those who can not travel up north to the likes of Aviemore have a great alternative in the Central Belt.
