The quintessential central market, Jean-Talon is open daily year round and abounds with fresh produce and flowers, specialty foods, butchers, fish mongers, and more. Make your way through the crowds sampling the goods, stop for a bite to eat at one of the many cafes and other small restaurants that line the outer edge of the market, or stop and watch street performer. If you want to know what Montreal is eating at home, you can get a good idea of it here. Traffic in and around the market is congested and parking is scarce, but it's worth the effort.
