Hospitality Key West Style

My friend and I were celebrating "significant" birthdays and drove to Key West from Fort Myers, traveling with my small dog. The manager, Dennis, was a charming, efficient and thoughtful host, saved a parking place for us right next to the inn and we were given a lovely room with an enclosed courtyard, complete with comfortable outdoor furniture. The room was small (but ALL rooms in Key West are small), but beautifully furnished, very clean, comfortable to the "nth" degree. The inn is very dog friendly, with pats on the head and custom dog treats issued at every opportunity. At bedtime and mornings, a plate appeared with organic dog treats made in the shape of people food; vegetables at bedtime, eggs & bacon in the morning. My friend and I went out for dinner our second evening there and when we returned to our room, a chilled bottle of champagne (not the cheap stuff either) waited for us in an ice bucket decked out with hybiscus blooms and two crystal flutes, with a note reading "Happy Birthdays". The Frances Street Bottle Inn was a delightful place to stay, the verandah a perfect place to relax at the end of a busy day, the owner and the manager both charming hosts....I can't say enough good things about this place. Thank you Dennis and Mark!
