Outstanding accommodations

After reading so many negative reviews here and there about this place, I was very nervous about what I would find. I should have relaxed--- everything was fantastic from beginning to end.

It is true that we stayed in one of the newer Sunset Suites, and I would recommend that to everyone until they get the older units remodeled. Also always ask for 2nd story, much brighter and lighter. Our one-bedroom suite was beautiful, the kitchen with its granite counters had a full size fridge, there was a washer and dryer, a huge jacuzzi and enormous shower in the super-sized bathroom. Two large flat screen TVs, very comfortable Q sized bed, and a balcony overlooking the red rocks. I think we were in building 37.Favorite thing: the almost empty supersiZed hot tub, looking out at the red rocks!

Yes we sat through a presentation, but we were not forced to do so.

The resort is situated just outside of the middle of town and right across the street from the beautiful red rock road. That makes it quiet and peaceful, but you DO need a car.

Our only negatives would be that there is no restaurant or bar, but we sampled many restaurants in the area as a result, and found them great. Do not miss the Coffee Pot for breakfast and splurge of L"Auberge for dinner some night. Safeway is nearby, as is a Whole Foods kind of market called Frontier.

Be sure to take a Jeep Ride, go to the Sinaguan Indian ruins, the Verde Canyon Raidroad, and if you have a 4 wheel drive, the awesome Schnebley Hill trail.
