Hubby and I have stayed in New York many times and usually in Manhatten hotels. The Nu Hotel was recommended by a friend and located in Brooklyn so we thought this would be a nice change. Nu Hotel is right on Smith street which has many eclectic restaurants and bars. The metro is a short walk (10 minutes) and from here its just 10 more minutes into Manhatten! You can also walk to the Brooklyn Bridge from here and if you are feeling really energetic walk across! The hotel is actually built opposite a detention center but even though we read negative reviews about this it didn't bother us at all. Its actually a very modren, chic place from the lobby all the way up to the clean white rooms. The staff were great, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the area. The breakfast was continental style and they had hot drinks and "Brookies" (Brooklyn cookies) on demand!Rooms were very clean and quirky.. I would certainly stay here again especially as it was way cheaper than staying in Manhatten!
