We went to Zimbabwe in August 2010. We booked 2 nights at the Rest Camp as visiting the Falls was going to be the highlight of the trip. We left after 1 night! The facilities are misrepresented and overpriced. Both our travel agent and the Rest Camp overcharged us, the prices changed depending on who you asked. We had asked for a lodge with cooking/washing facilities and utensils - paid for that. But were actually given a chalet with 2 beds, a table and chairs and a fridge. We were charged a deposit of US$20 for a knife and fork. The staff were unhelpful. The managers avoided us entirely, we spent the day we arrived and the next day waiting in the reception for one or both of them to talk to, and they were never at work or available. Eventually we were 'upgraded' to what we had paid for, and still had no utensils or crockery/cultery. The rooms were dirty, the bathroom and kitchen definietly not worth what we had paid. The Falls are beautiful - go there! But don't stay at the Rest Camp, and don't ever expect the managers to talk to you!! Or turn up for work!
