Ruined New Year

I am a student in Oxford and my family came from Bulgaria to spend Christmas and New Year`s with me. When we were looking for ideas for the evening we came across Golden Tours Thames Clippers New Year`s Eve Cruise. It costed around a hundred pounds which is a lot of money so we expected a nice calm evening with some nice food and drinks, good music and appropriate atmosphere. We boarded the boat at 8:15 but it was just a regular tour boat and it was very cold inside. The staff was polite and helpful. But all the wonderful spirit we had was killed by the music - Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake etc. For my surprise the music was coming from a small radio that had a microphone pointed towards it so you can probably imagine that the sound was not pleasant but irritating. The white wine tasted like a bad version of lemonade but that was not the biggest problem. The food smelled a bit funny but we could not imagine that it will harm our stomachs. On our way back to Oxford we all had a nap on the bus, but my father woke up almost screaming because of a terrible pain in his stomach. I also was not feeling good at all. Excuse me for the language, but we could not leave the bathroom untill early in the morning because of this food poisoning. How can something like this happen on New Year`s Eve after paying 360 pounds for all three of us! I am sure that this was my first and last time to ever go on such a cruise!
