We had the pleasure of dining at Pescatores restaurant on Saturday night and look forward to many more fabulous dinners there. We have lived in Victoria for a few years now but this was our first time eating at this restaurant. It was FABULOUS!The staff were warm, welcoming and extremely friendly. The restaurant was full and there was a buzz of good energy in the room. We ordered a bottle of their Burrowing Owl Pinot Gris and were impressed with the price AND the number of varietals they offered from Burrowing Owl. Usually such an elusive wine.We started with their king crab and avocado appetizer as well as their "famous crab cakes". Outstanding! The crab & avocado starter was light, fresh and exactly what we had in mind. We had to try the crab cakes as Pescatores claims they are "famous". So glad we did. They melt in your mouth. It's hard to find good crab cakes in the city. We wished they had been a little larger but understand the difference between quality and quantity. For dinner, my husband had the Jumbo Scallop Pasta from their special sheet and I had the King Halibut entree as suggested by my server. Rich, rich, rich. The pasta was done with lobster ravioli and sauteed spinach in a truffle cream sauce. Mouthwatering when described to us and the chef did not disappoint. My husband did not want to give me a bite he was enjoying it so much.....but he knows better. lol.My halibut was cooked perfectly. It had king crab and a hollandaise sauce on top. It was....heaven. I am not usually fussy about mashed potatoes and am not used to seafood restaurants pairing them with fish, but it was the perfect compliment. After dinner we were too full to each have our own dessert so we opted to share the Bananas Foster. Thank goodness we shared! It was huge and oh so good. I will be bringing my daughter in one afternoon just to share one of these desserts with her. It was THAT good.THANK YOU TO THE STAFF & CHEF!We will be back and send our friends with confidence.Best of luck for the holiday season!
