Victoria Falls, the great bellowing cataract that divides Zambia and Zimbabwe is aptly named "Mosi o Tunya" - "The Smoke that Thunders". To tourists like myself, it's usually either the starting or ending point of most Southern African safaris. After days or weeks of lounging around campfires and watering holes (both of the animal and human variety), Victoria falls presents a perfect opportunity to give vent to the adrenaline-junkie and try a number of unique and thrilling activities in the shadow of one of the world's most beautiful natural wonders.Where to stayThe Zambezi WaterfrontLocated on the Zambezi river, the Zambezi waterfront is perfect for campers and overlanders. The Zambezi Waterfront is great if you're looking to relax and want a cheaper alternative to the splashy "Royal Livingstone" that's just up the road. The only downside is that it's somewhat off-the-beaten-track.
