We loved everything about the Harbour Marriott: the room, the beds, the service, but most of all, the location! I don't think there is a better place to stay for tourism in Sydney. You're just a few steps away from Circular Quay, the active harbor ferry wharf area which also has a local rail station to get around the city. But you're within easy walking distance of the Opera House, the Botanical Gardens, the historical Rocks district, and major shopping avenues. The hotel itself is a very standard high-end city Marriott and I don't think you will be disappointed in it at all. Our room with two double beds was a nice comfortable standard size for the four of us with a nice clean bathroom in great condition. The beds, linens, and pillows were all fine. The concierge desk was very helpful, offering tourist advice, booking tours, and, in particular, trying to help us retrieve our luggage which Qantas Airlines had misplaced. We ate in their nice restaurant once and they have an elaborate breakfast buffet. It features made to order eggs, omelettes, and pancakes, and has a great selection of tropical fruits, pastries, hot dishes, yogurt, and much more. It is really a superb spread, but it is very expensive. There are several dining options nearby: a bakery/grocer across the street, fast food (and better options) at the ferry wharf, a nice selection of restaurants in the nearby Rocks district, and the historical Customs House Pub just out the back door.If you arrive early and they can't check you into your room yet, they do have an early arrivals lounge where you can relax at least. There is an Avis rental car desk off the lobby. They aren't the least expensive in town, but I found their prices were comparable to most others in the city, and the convenience was tough to beat. For a nice room, great service, and a prime location, I totally recommend the Harbour Marriott.
