Four days in Bangkok ... so many items on my MUST DO list ... i was barely managing to fit everything in ...Never the less there was no way i would leave the city without having visited an open-air rooftop bar sitting 60 floors above ground level! This time we opted to go by Taxi as we were unsure of how to get to the popular "Sky Bar" ... After a 20 minute taxi ride we noticed that the taxi driver wasn't very sure of where he was going either ... we weren't of much help as all we knew was that the bar was located on the roof top of the last floor of a hotel. Finally he parked in front of the Banyan Tree Hotel Entrance ... we followed some directions that indicated our way to the bar ... BUT we realised that we had not reached our planned destinationThe taxi driver had taken us to a completely different place than the one we had initially asked for but despite of this we continued our way up, curious to know what surprise would await for us at the VERTIGO bar.The Vertigo bar is located on floor 61 ... to get there you will take a counted second ride by elevator and will have to pass by the entrance of the Moon bar ... seemed to be another spectacular bar/restaurant with magnificent views, but we didn't go in.You then will have to climb some steps taking you to an exterior corridor that will blow your thoughts away!!! I don't think i have ever imagined such a place ...The view was absolutely magnificent ... a few blocks away from the hotel we were able to locate the Lumphini Park and the Lumphini night Market ... magnificent buildings were just standing right out in front of you ... it was like you could reach out and touch everything! I had the feeling that i was so close to the sky! But after a few glances down to the streets i had to back my self away because of the VERTIGO feeling i started sensing. The weather was perfect .... not too much wind, not too many people and very cool temperature ...Such a busy city had suddenly run quite ... the sense of craziness on the streets had dissappeared and we were surrounded by house music and the most INCREDIBLE view ever seen by my eyes. Everything looked perfect from high above ... you could see the rivers passing by through the middle of the city, extremely high buildings scattered all around the place, magnificent light colors every where ... and we had the chance to see a firework display in the distant.I had a pina colada ... the service was excellent ... too difficult to leave the place ... you just cant stop looking back to get one last glance of that beauty. It made me miserable to have not taken my camera ... i had run out of battery and never had thought i would regret it so much! Still have some nice shots from my mums camera to keep with me ... Cant wait to go there again ... next time with my camera, plenty of battery and plenty of space in my memory card!
