Start at the Bottom

Shenandoah doesn't offer the spectacular vistas or mile-high adventures of parks out West, but there's still some good hiking to be had here. My best experiences came with the White Oak Canyon / Cedar Run Loop Trail, which you ideally start at the bottom by way of some state highways and backroads. The Cedar Run Trail takes you up to Skyline Drive, where you'll follow a fire road to the White Oak Canyon Trail. Here, you'll enjoy a series of fantastic waterfalls as you descend back down to the parking area. I've done this hike many times and always loved it!
