Hotel Edison was a good bargain--by far the best price I could find in the area. Location was terrific, right off Times Square and very close to Broadway. I would say I was slightly disappointed, however. While I wasn't expecting and didn't require anything grand, the room was gaudily furnished and decorated, and the bathroom was terribly small with no counter space at all. The photographs on the website are probably the only tastefully decorated rooms in the hotel, and the supposedly grand lobby was really very disappointing and somewhat shabby, as were the cafe and restaurant. Food was not that great, either. Bed was comfortable, though, and the room was very, very clean. Staff was very helpful and surprisingly friendly. Would I stay here again? Maybe. Depends on my budget. It's really only a room for sleeping, and honestly, we did little of that on our trip to NYC anyway.
