So my husband found this cute hotel for us to stay in during our short trip in San Francisco. Very cute. Rooms painted from floor to ceiling with beautiful art work, and each room has different paintings. Except, we rented a room with an attached bathroom, and unfortunately for us, there was a freshly painted smell in the room, no A.C. and it was HOT outside. The room was stifling and I felt like I couldn't breath. So we opened the windows. Brought in a nice draft and I drifted off to sleep. Till I woke up with a start, and I felt like I was getting bug bites. Originally I thought it was mosquitos from outside, but my husband laid there untouched. I tried to ignore the itching sensation thinking I'd rather get a few mosquito bites rather than sleep in the stifling room with no breeze, but then I woke up again.... same feeling. this time I said screw it, and I closed the window and went back to bed. But it happened a third time. I just knew something was wrong. I flicked on the light switch and couldn't sure enough, my arm was swollen with all the bites i had received. My hand especially. Which was weird, becuase i sleep with my hand under the pillow, if i were getting mosquito bites, that'd be the last place they'd bite. I went back to bed thinking I was dreaming, but again, woke up with a start. Turned on the lights, flipped over the pillow, and crawling all over the pillow (apparently they were hiding inside the pillow case) were bed bugs. Turns out, once a bed bug finds a host, they don't bother to keep looking for other people's blood to suck, so my husband, luckily was left unscathed. I, on the other hand, got 21 bites on my right arm, 19 on my left arm, and 6 on my stomach. I was mauled. I scream. My husband goes out to complain. We get a room in the opposite side of the hotel. No attached bathroom. Horrible experience. Cute hotel. if you go, just be sure to check the bed for bugs. I'm itching now just thinking about it.
